Paula Chanda Executive Director/Co-Owner
Paula and her husband, Bob, had a dream to do theatre in Lubbock. They wanted to have jobs where they could do what they love and be a family at the same time. With that vision in mind, they started Hub Theatre Group and Hub Performing Arts School. After a successful summer camp in July 2007, the school was launched and celebrated its first semester with 150 students! Paula’s goal is to provide performance training and performance opportunities for talented performers in the South Plains.
Paula is completing a PhD in Fine Arts at Texas Tech University. Her dissertation project is starting a performing arts school and that is exactly what she has done. She has performed multiple times on the Tech stage and directed a show for them in February of 2008. Paula performed professionally as a child and has two super-talented children herself so she understands the world of the theatre from all sides. She has taught theatre to all age groups from very young kids at Super Saturdays at Texas Tech, theatre arts to high school students and speech communications to students at Texas Tech. Her vision is to see Hub Performing Arts School develop into a place where students of all ages can come and explore their talents and abilities and realize their fullest potential.
